iGO has several committees and interest groups. Below are the descriptions and chairs of each. All association members are invited to get involved!

AUDIT COMMITTEE

Chair: Larry Burtness
Reviews all revenue and expenses for iGO for the previous fiscal year, drawing from the association’s auditor’s report. Reports to the iGO board on any findings or recommendations by the association’s auditor.

AWARDS COMMITTEE

Develops and markets Awards programs for iGO.

BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE

Chair: Chris Walker
Reviews the records of the past three years to obtain a baseline and, together with the Chief Staff Officer, submits a proposed budget for the coming fiscal year.

BY-LAWS COMMITTEE

Chair: Pat Bond
Ensures that the association’s bylaws are reviewed at least bi-annually. Reviews policies at least annually and reports suggested amendments to the board.

CLERKS’ COMMITTEE

Chair: Gerarda Culipher
Oversees planning of educational sessions at meetings of the association for members involved in Clerks, Clerk to Board, and Clerk of Court. Identifies topics and speakers, and recruits same. Assures that educational sessions offer program topics which meet criteria for CPO designation.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Serves as the editorial board for the association’s printed newsletter and electronic newsletters, identifying articles to be included, and writing or assigning others to write articles for the current issue. Oversees association’s website, assuring that it is kept current and fresh.

CONFERENCE ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

Receives all statements of candidacy for officers to be elected at the Annual Conference, provide for the preparation of ballots, and conduct all elections at the Annual Conference and file the results of the election with the Secretary.

DELEGATION DIRECTORS COMMITTEE

Consists of the Delegation Directors from each Member State, Province or Country and is responsible for the recruitment of members within each respective jurisdiction.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMITTEE

Chair: Noah Praetz
Works with Interest Group chairs and Chief Staff Officer to plan content for the Mid-Winter and Annual Conferences. Establishes themes, if any, for meetings of the association, and any associated social events.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING/GWU SUBCOMMITTEE

Chair: Annette Hill
Responsible for the selection and planning of CPL modules to be offered at the Annual Conference and at other times as scheduled.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING/CERTIFICATION SUBCOMMITTEE

Chair: Mary DePelteau
Establishes, and updates as necessary, criteria and procedures for members to obtain or renew Certified Public Official (CPO) designation. Oversees internal processes to assure executive director is keeping track of members’ progress towards obtaining or renewing CPO designations. Assists interest group chairs in certification designation for program credits. Evaluates CPO applications and support materials.

Plans and articulates the annual membership campaign, including timing for membership renewals, efforts to recruit new members, state-by-state strategies, and/or county population size strategies. Oversees solicitation of members for memberships and renewals, including reasonable efforts to update existing database of county officials.
