TRADE SHOW

One of the best ways to interact with the industry’s best vendors is on our Annual Conference exhibitor floor. Make your plans now to visit them at the iGO Annual Conference and Trade Show! The exhibit hall will be open to attendees Wednesday, July 18 and Thursday, July 19 at The Peppermill Reno.

The iGO trade show is an important portion of the Annual Conference and the exhibitors offer solutions and opportunities for increased efficiency to our respective offices. If you have a vendor that provides a service or product that would be beneficial to other like offices/duties, please refer them to Peggy Sparks, iGO Trade Show Director, pegysparks@att.net.

JOIN iGO IN GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

This year President Burtness has chosen Veteran’s Guest House as our Charity for this years Conference. Veteran’s Guest House – provides military veterans and their families with temporary lodging while they are receiving treatment at a medical facility in the Reno/Sparks area. A privately funded facility, the history of this service to our veterans and their families began in the early 1990’s and despite ongoing expansions, the demand continues to increase. A 21-bed expansion to the facility is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2018. Please come prepared to give your donations. Monday 16 July 2018 | 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Organizational Leadership
Presented by Jim Robinson, Executive Director, Center for Excellence in Public Leadership, The George Washington University

This class will ask participants to move beyond thinking of leadership from the individual or team relationships perspectives, but, rather, to consider how their actions shape organizational climate. The basic theory of the case is that leader behaviors give shape to organizational climate which, in turn, activates or deactivates employee motivations and that climates which activate employee motivations constructively lead to increased employee engagement. Increased employee engagement is correlated with improved employee and organizational performance. Organizational climate is kind of like the weather….you can feel it. However, research has shown that it can be described and measured and that it can be related to specific leadership practices. We will explore both research and the practical experience of the class participants so each participant can walk away with a framework she or he can test in the “back home” environment.

Tuesday 17 July 2018 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Networking Leadership

Presented by Jing Burgi-Tian, Program Director of International Programs and Certified Public Manager Programs, Center for Excellence in Public Leadership, The George Washington University

The quality and scope of an employee’s network have a substantial impact on that person’s ability to become and remain a top 20% performer. Most high performers succeed by developing targeted, but not necessarily big, networks that complement and extend their ability. In this workshop, we offer you the opportunity to assess your core professional network on three important dimensions: Structural, Relational and Behavioral.
