Public Framework: An introduction to Quantifying the Decision-Making Process and Evaluating Policy Outcome

Some people get to make the kind of decisions that are mathematical or objective in nature which means the answer is obvious and everyone comes to the same conclusion. For managers, though, most of the decisions you make each day seem arbitrary because there's no consensus on the 'right' answer. It can be frustrating to know whether we're making the right choice. We weigh the costs and benefits of things that matter to us but we want to be fair and consistent. Framing the decision allows us to put some sort of structure to the process. This brings decisions closer to an objective measure to provide consistency and confidence in the choices we make. Participants will explore options for putting a framework around some of the subjective decisions they make every day. Participants will apply frameworks to their own examples and should come prepared with 2-3 examples of their own.
